Birthing Misconceptions

02

If you have a cesarean once, you must have another one

In previous times it was thought that once a woman had one cesarean birth it was necessary for her to always deliver by cesarean. We now know quite clearly that most women are good candidates to safely try for a vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC). Women who attempt a normal vaginal birth are in general 60-80% successful and babies are just as healthy! Our VBAC decision-making tool can help you decide if you would like to discuss VBAC further with your care provider and it’s available in six languages (English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Punjabi, Spanish and Vietnamese)
